In Remembrance of
Peggy Jean Witt Williams

Charles Witt, James Williams, and other friends and relatives of Peggy Jean Witt Williams, a 1957 Medical Technology graduate, established the Peggy Jean Witt Williams Memorial Scholarship Fund. Mrs. Williams, a native of Fairmont, West Virginia, died in 1991.

James Williams, Mrs. Williams's husband, said, "Peggy and I had talked about doing something to benefit the medical technology program long before she got sick. So her brother Charles and I felt that the scholarship fund was a very fitting memorial tribute." The memorial fund currently provides 3-4 scholarships per year to medical technology students showing academic promise and financial need. Including the upcoming 2000-2001 academic year, the memorial fund will have provided a total of 24 scholarships.

Dr. Jean Holter, director of the Medical Technology program, is enthusiastic about the fund. "Scholarship funds are crucial. This fund provides a student with a scholarship for two years of medical technology training, and helps students who might otherwise be unable to afford college."
